2 Weeks!!!!

Holy Cow, I can’t believe it! It’s only 2 weeks away!!!! We’re 2 weeks away from being on national television. I still can’t believe all this happened!! I hope everyone is getting ready to watch!

Our Shopaholic episode is airing November 9th, on the slice network, at 9:00pm. So set your PVR’s (if you can this far in advance), and get ready to cheer on a hometown Sault Ste. Marie girl and her handsome assistant husband compete for a $5000 prize.

Here’s a sneak peak photo from our preparation for Cake Walk . Talk about packing up everything but the kitchen sink, and the fridge, and the ovens, haha.

So get ready to cheer us on, wear blue, order cupcakes, put signs up, honk when we drive by! Anything you can do to support this huge accomplishment for our small city, we’d appreciate it!!!

Gallery Update

Well it’s no shock to anyone that it’s been a busy summer, with things winding down now, I finally had a chance to update the gallery. Some older stuff has been removed and of course replaced with newer ones. I just wanted to let everyone know that. Here are a few of my favourites from the summer…

Very Exciting News…

Alright folks, as promised in the last few posts, here at JCC we’ve had a pretty great year. Not only is our schedule jam packed every week, we are creating more and more daring and exciting cakes. Well it’s about time to share the great news, don’t you agree? First off, we were approached by the slice network earlier in the year. Imagine just sitting at home one Tuesday morning, and getting THAT phone call. At first, I didn’t believe it, they wanted me? No audition or anything? This can’t be real. Well, I was proven wrong pretty quickly. I remember calling my husband/baker/manger Anthony just to basically see if I was crazy. He was speechless. And for those of you who don’t know him, that is rare. We immediately got back to slice and told them we were interested. Why not? That seems to be how things work around here, jump in, figure out the logistics later. That’s pretty much all the information I can give you at this point, BUT I can tell you that we have an air date! Cake Walk: Wedding Cake Edition will be starting September 7th, at 9pm, with our episode airing on November 9th, at 9pm. It truly was an amazing experience, we made friends that are just as excited about cake as we are, and we had FUN! I can’t wait to tell you all more about it! We couldn’t be more excited. Ok so that’s not the complete truth, because we are! Not only did we compete on a national television show, we did it 3 months pregnant! Our little cupcake is expected to arrive in early December. I do plan on taking some time off, but no worries, you’ll all be able to get your fix before we’re on hiatus for a few months!

A Month…really?

No joke, I had NO idea a month could fly by so quickly. I feel like we just got back from our vacation. When we got back, we literally jumped right back into business. Not even a delay at the airport really slowed us down. Since we’ve been back, it’s been go go go heading right into wedding season, and keeping up with all the outstanding ideas and orders that you guys have sent our way. The ideas are getting more daring, and in true JCC form, we’re excited to do them all. Of course, there is no sign of us slowing down any time soon either, we have 2 VERY exciting things coming up, but of course, you’re just going to have to wait and stay tuned to find out what they are.

As far as wedding season goes, the ovens haven’t been turned off in weeks. Of course that makes us happy, and we’re loving all the new and exciting ideas that brides are having for their weddings. If you haven’t booked your cake yet, we still have some space available, so contact us sooner than later.

We have a few blackout days due to work trips and weddings that we are attending, so just a heads up, these are the weekends that we are unavaliable to accept any (more) orders. May 27th-June 5th, June 10th-June 14th, June 30th-July 3rd, and July 24th-July 29th.

Last but not least, just a few questions that I’ve been getting that I believe need answered. We’ve been contacted recently to see if we had considered doing cakes that don’t have fondant. The answer to this is still no, this is the medium we work in and how we achieve our best results. We also do not do sheet cakes, of any sort.

We’re Stranded…

They’ve Arrived!

Finally, we had some time here at the bakery to make up our latest creation! They’re popping up everywhere in the states and southern ontario, and now they are HERE, at Jeannette’s Custom Cakes.

Cake Balls, Truffles, Bites, Pops, whatever you want to call them, we have them! Perfect for gifts, favours, or even my favourite, midnight snacking. These little pieces of yum are available in ANY combination of our cake and icing flavours. Not only to they taste delicious, but they can be done up custom to match your wedding or party. Wedding Expo

Attention 2011 brides! We will be at the Wedding Expo at the Comfort Suites here in the Sault on November 10th from 6-9 pm. Come check out our booth, see some sample cakes, displays and maybe even steal a few treats. We’ll be raffling of a cookie basket valued at $50.00, as well as answering any questions you may have.

No pricing information will be given out at the event, however, If you do require further information we will take your email address or phone number and I will personally contact you within a few weeks.

Zoom Zoom…

Ok, I know I drive a Toyota, but I love that saying. Keep an eye on the road people! The decals are up, and I must say they look pretty sweet. (no pun intended.)

Of course I had to have a custom cake on board sign! Benefits to being your own designer!

If you see the sign on the car, it’s why we’re going 40. There is a cake in there! Interesting tidbit, 400 cupcakes can fit in that car. We learned that this weekend.
